Many people seem to the think Dew-Code.com is run by a group of people, or some big corporation. Well, it's flattering if you have that impression, but the truth is, its just one person. While I'd love nothing more than to continue giving away my scripts, my time and experience, I do have the same needs as everyone else. If you've found Dew-Code.com , or any of the scripts found there to be helpful, please consider making a contribution.

For the year 2008, as of 8/1/08, A total of $55 USD has been contributed, or roughly $6.47 per month, for the year. While that is of course appreciated, unless more contributions are received, I will have no choice but to make future scripts available for purchase only.

Dialing it in

Once you have the content and the money making ads in place it's time to do more search engine optimization. Basically little touches to make sure your site comes up when your keywords are typed into a search engine.

Some basic search engine optimization tips.

Unique & descriptive page titles, like the article's title containing select keywords.

Unique & descriptive meta keyword & description tags, with the keywords.

Use H1, H2 or H3 tags at the top of your content to echo the title.

Find and exchange links with relevant quality sites. (more links is not always better, but thats a whole different article)

Continue to expand your sites content, suggest your visitors submit their own articles.

Check out providing a RSS newsfeed that other webmasters can put on their sites.

This should give you a decent foundation to build on, but remember these two things.

1 You won't get something for nothing. Maintaining a profitable website takes work.

2 Your website is for people. All the keyword stuffing and SEO blackhat tecniques might get you a little traffic, but if a person doesn't find your site useful, informative or amusing, they will not buy your products or services... Googlebot will not laugh at your jokes (although I've heard their engineers are working on that feature)
