Hi Folks,

Since the topic description of this forum is "What did you do to Dew-New-PHPlinks and how do you use it ... talk about general usage and customization" I felt this was the best forum to "brag" about my website. I've had several dew-code link installations over the years, each one has served it's purpose. The installation behind this post is my "Premier Web Guide" at http://www.premierwebguide.com. It started as a simple web directory so I could list client websites with specific in-bound text links. It has become a lot more since then.

A few months back I decided to update the Premier Web Guide, mostly to ensure the back-end code was as up-to-date as possible and that every feature worked. I downloaded the most current version and re-applied my modifications, sorta like starting over fresh. That Captcha feature is nice. I had already prevented spam submissions a long time back, but I'ld swear that when the bots find a Captcha they leave without even trying to post. Some of my current modifications are -->

Visible to everyone:
* Page titles, descriptions, and keywords are more unique for each page and "fun" for others.
* Added the site name to owners.html and review.html
* Added the site description to review.html and review_add.html
* Added the functions of in.php to Review_add.html (to try an get more 'link-back' compliance)
* Added Dewd's new RSS feed of the last 25 submitted items
* Added more ads

Hidden to most:
* Added emailing to site owner upon site submission
* Modified the bookmarklet javascript and add.html with secret code allowing me to use html code in the description without having to log in to the admin side

Being Contemplated
* Thinking about previous/next buttons on multi-page situations

I had ads on Premier Web Guide prior to this update so I compromised and left most of Dewds while added my own. I also was nice and added Dewd's Google code into the ads rotation for my joke site (significantly more traffic).

DewNewPHPLinks is a software good foundation for a link directory website. Once one is accustomed to the coding sytle, it is easy to manipulate.

Now that this is posted, I will notice all the minor tidbits left stringing along on my website.
