I found a use which for Dew-NewPHPLinks that takes advantage of Dew-NewPHPLinks organizational and presentational abilities.
I had been using Dew-NewPHPLinks for maybe a year when the need arose for additional software to preform a new task. I searched, download and installed, and rejected, rejected, and rejected.
They were either too simplistic, too restrictive, or too darn big with only a module partially addressing my needs. I started fearing I might need to do major modifications to a script. Honestly, I had thought about Dew-NewPHPLinks earlier but wasn't too thrilled over certain aspects of its abilities regarding updating entries.
Dew-NewPHPLinks won out because it's advantages far outweighted the updating deficiencies. Looking back, it was a good choice, too. I was able to theme it to nearly matched the looks of my osCommerce store. I have it running on a subdomain at
http://software.dcphosting.com and use it to display my affiliate software I sell for/through RegNow (Digital River).
out.php hides the affiliate strings. The product line of Software is commonly displayed according to category. I need a sent to Digital River button (or link) not an add to cart button. Related categories is a handy feature. SEF instead of SEO URLs but that's a lot better than ?x=9blahblah
When I changed the theme of my site, it only took maybe a half hour to realign Dew-NewPHPLinks.
