I installed PHPLinks with fantastico. Everytime I try to access anything but the admin page it directs me to phplinks/directory with a 404 error. I have searched the forum and found posts of others having the same issue that seems to be related to info in the .htaccess file. I couldn't find a .htaccess file in the directory. I got the info in the FAQ on what to put in the .htaccess file. I tried to create it and it said it already exists. Why can't I see it?

Depending on what FTP client you are using, there should be an option somewhere to show remote system files, aka dot files.
