Problems using old phplinks database with Dew New 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi, I edited my /include/config file so that I can use my old PHPlinks database with the Dew NewPHPlinks. It works good for browzing, but I can't seem to add sites or edit sites either as a user or in the admin panel. Also, while in the admin, if I click on Edit Sites, there is an "undefined function" error in something or other main on line 198 displayed at the top of the page and the sites are not listed.

The URL for my site is http://www.surfboardbid.com/directory

Here is the error in the admin panel when you click "Edit" sites and then select a category:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sql_error() in /home/surf/public_html/directory/admin/sites_main.php on line 198

Then it displays the HTML table where the sites would be listed with this:

... Showing 1 - of Sites

And like I said, adding sites from the admin panel or as user generate a page that says the site has been added, but it hasn't..nothing there to validate..no new site in the directory..nada.

It is the old database from the pre-Dew phplinks. I obviously wanted to keep all my sites and not start over, and from PHPAdmin the old database looks just like the new one.

I don't know how to change things with the old databse...I'd need extremely specific step by step instructions to do that. I'm sort of hoping there's just another file or two in Dew PHPlinks that still need tweaking and that you've seen this before.

Hi, Are you still having issues with your Dew-NewphpLinks? I added my "dirtracer36 link directory" to it without any problems. For the error, I would double check the username and password.

In your include/config file, check that you added the database username and dbase password correctly.

sql_error() in /home/surf/public_html/directory/admin/sites_main.php on line 198

edit the file admin/sites_main.php at line 198 change it to

mysql_error

ps, sorry for teh delayed response, for some reason I was not seeing recent posts.

As for the inabaility to add sites, this has to do with differences in the tables involved, mostly the links table has some new columns. I'll have to work out the alter table statements to upgrade your tables
