I installed DNPL yesterday through my cpannel and Fantastico but have a problem in finding the front page of the links window that visitors see.
There is an error message that comes up if i click on " visit site " link in the installation info. This is

Not Found

The requested URL /derek/directory/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

what is the easy way of sorting this problem or finding the correct url

how can i find the url i need to act as the link between DNPL and my site ?

If you installed into a drectory called "derek" then browse to

yoursite.com/derek/directory/

My host did the permission changes. I installed in to DEREK but when i use the path you suggest i get a message as

I am a bit of a thicko when it comes to code etc. so am at a loss what to do

The file that is named "directory" is actually a PHP script it simply lacks the .php file extension. The .htaccess file is used to instruct your web server to treat the "directory" file as a PHP script, but because there are different versions of Apache, and endless ways it can be configured, the exact line needed in the .htaccess can vary.

The .htaccess file is just a plain text file that can be edited in notepad.
The lines beginning with # are commented, ignored by your web server, so only lines that don't start with # are processed... but again, exactly which line to uncomment will vary depending on your server setup.
