Hi all, I just installed PhpLinks from Lunarpages.com. Forgive the silly questions but I'm a noob. How do I put the links page on my website to allow people to add their links?

Figure out where you installed it.. typically it goes in a directory called links ... and the script itself is named "directory" , a link for your main index page might look like this ..

Code:

<a href=./links/directory/>Resource directory</a>

To create a link to the Add site page

Code:

<a href=./links/directory/add.html>Add your site to the resource directory</a>

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sure this is extremely simple but I'm a market, salesman, project manager etc... I just don't get where to do this. Would you be will to do this for me? I could send you my ftp information and pay you for you time if necessary.

I took a look at your site real quick, and noticed your title tag has a bit of a glitch as well. I'll email you the details shortly, but I typically charge $20 USD/hour, and require a $20 non-refundable retainer up front, payable via Paypal. If the job takes less than an hour (and this likely will) then I would charge nothing more, but you are of course free to tip me if you really like my work

Well you truly can't please everyone I suppose. For the record, I logged into where this install was, on lunarpages.com I recall many people posting problems on the old Dew-Code forums when hosting the script on lunarpages servers. It can be made to work, and lapantz4less's install does indeed work.. but I was unable to create links to it from his main pages.. depsite 4 hours of trying..... well 2 of that was actually spent trouble shooting a sudden issue which just happened right after I logged in... I edit the link directory script conf file.. and poof.. MySQL decides to change the password ?... Sorry, you can't pay me enough to work on web servers that are clearly possessed by Satan
