Great software... However.... 3 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Without stepping on toes and making sure everyone knows I'm not the greatest programmer.....
I have found many issues with the php code in many files may very well solve MANY of the problems I'm seeing people post on this site. This is from the latest current download from this site as of today. I've already cleaned up about 12 or so files. I don't do well on documenting what they are, but a lot of the issues pertain to tabs being inside quotes and mix files of dos text files vs unix text files. If you are interested in reviewing the changes I've made, let me know and I'll re-zip the distro and send it to you for your review. So far, almost every issue I've had and others have had are not resolved.

excellent! I'm really unsure how any files got formatted differently. It runs as is on my server, so it is difficult for me to determine which, if any files are formatted incorrectly, or what I need to do to correct them.. pretty hard to fix a problem I can't see

I'd be very grateful for a zipped up copy with your corrections, oh, and don't feel bad.. obviously documentation is not one of my strengths either.

Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. Greatly appreciated.

I'm looking over various files now, but am finding some inconsistencies that I never noticed before, likely because I wasn't looking for this issue in every file, only PHP files.

It also sheds some light on how this issue may have been created... Although I am an avid/livid? Linux fan, I frequently use a windows workstation, so typically ASCII files are created using the Windows line delimiters 'CRLF" but, I also love my little black box called BASH and have used various text editors, some of which may have changed line delimiters to UNIX format "LF"

I initially thought this was due to ASCII files being uploaded as binary, now I'm thinking.. I just need to pick a single editor and stick with it. I'll be going over every ASCII file, converting to use CRLF where necessary.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

Don't feel bad, it took me forever and a day to figure that one out. If you HAVE to code in a Windoze environment, I suggest looking at a program called phpDesigner 2008. It's by far the easiest and best of the breed of coding. It can be set up so that you can ftp download the code from the unix box, do whatever is needed, automatically upload via ftp when saved. As you noticed, it cleans up code quite nicely as well. Highlights errors, etc. Well worth the price. It cut my coding time in half once I figured out a fraction of abilities this thing has.
