There does seem to be bugs with IE7 & 8 regarding framesets, like the admin panel uses, and now apparently Firefox 3.6.4 as well, since I get a blank page. Viewing the HTML source, I see it it produces the HTML code for the frameset, but the 2 files that fill the frames aren't included...

Clunky I know, but you can access those files directly

/admin/menu.php
and
/admin/main.php

I'll continue to ponder this one.

Interesting. It looks like Microsoft released (or at least I had instlled) four updates today
  • two updates for Windows 7 (KB980846 and KB982519)

  • .NET Framework 3.5SP1 update (KB982526)

  • and update for Media Center for WIndows 7 (KB981078)

I wonder if they were the culprits as it was working ealier today just fine.

Quite possibly, I also just updated my Firefox, although I can't be sure it worked prior to that.

Framesets, although maybe old school should still work fine if defined correctly, and I can see nothing wrong with the ones used in the admin panel. I don't recommend using framesets for a publicly viewable page since search engines may not index it, but for something like an admin panel, its the perfect solution... or so I though.

Most annoying!! Sometime in the last week or so even Chrome and Firefox stopped working!! I can't administer my sight now for some reason.

I was limping along doing the admin in Chrome as that worked even when FF and IE didn't, but even that seemed to break recently. Not sure exactly when, as I don't get a large number of updates.

I seem to be able to go to the AddALink page and add the link. It then passes me the email and as long as I click on the Validata button it works fine and I can add the sight, but if I try to access anything else in the admin screens all I get is a blank screen.

*sigh*

the admin panel makes use of framesets. The first frameset you should see has menu.php and main.php you could view those files directly to help you navigate, but some of the admin functionality also uses frames..

You might also want to try grabbing the latest version from here, extracting the zip file
rename the extracted "admin" directory and upload that directory alongside your broken admin directory. Test it by browsing to it, it should be a fully functional admin panel.

If everything checks out, copy the .htaccess from your broken admin directory over, delete the old admin directory and rename the new one.
